To ease parking difficulties at the venue, the SJNL Administrator has reminded us that, in addition to the parking around the school (details above), there is also a large public car park on King Street TF4 2AA within easy walking distance.

Training: Any suitable clothing may be worn for practices/training – for your own comfort, we advise no trackie bottoms and expect you to wear suitable footwear – no plimsolls or fashion trainers please.

Matches: Our online shop at Macron has grown – take a look!

Through Macron’s sponsorship, we are still be able to offer players’ initials and Club Name printed on the reverse of the hoodie free of charge.

VERY IMPORTANT when ordering hoodies online you need to write in the ‘notes section’ ‘Delivered by Andy’ together with the player’s 3 initials. DO NOT PUT INITIALS REQUIRED IN THE ORDER SYSTEM AS IT WILL CHARGE AND DO NOT CLICK ON DELIVERY PLEASE.

We have eight hard-working coaches now; Sian, Hollie and Georgia who are all Level 2 qualified and our Level 1 coaches Caroline, Andrea, Karen, Sally and Rhianne!

We are always looking for extra help so if you have a coaching qualification or would like to train for one please contact us.

Other stuff?

Members should not wear jewellery during training or matches and should keep their fingernails short and safe.

To comply with the Leisure Centre regulations, and to encourage members to focus during training sessions, mobile phones should be turned off whilst members are inside the Leisure Centre.

Hi. I spoke to you a couple of months ago regarding my daughter Emma. She will be 10 in February and is in year 5 in school. You told me to email you around now to see if there was room for her to start after Christmas. I await your reply. Many thanks Gareth Jones.

  2. Sarah Taylor Says:

Hello. I have two daughters who both play netball at school and are interested in joining a club. One is in year 7 and the other year 6.

Do you have space and could they both play at the same time?

    Many thanks

  3. David Kynaston Says:

Hi. My daughter is year 8 and loves netball. She plays now in Welshpool but they don’t seem to play matches. Do you have places available in her age group? Could she come sometime and see what it’s like?

    • hpyates Says:

      Hi David

Your daughter is very welcome to come along to one of our Saturday morning training sessions and have a go.

We finish for Christmas on the 24th November – next Saturday (we have matches on the 25th) – so that would be your best chance to have a taster session until we start back on 12th January.

      Your daughter’s session would be:
      10.00am – 11.15am Years 7, 8 and 9
and she should come along in appropriate sports wear to meet our coaches and warm up before the session – say 9:50 at the Sports Hall in the Leisure Centre?

Let me know if she is coming and I will forewarn the coaches

      Hope that helps?

  4. Elaine Roberts Says:

Hi my daughter Hannah is interested in joining your netball club. She’s 15, just wondering if you have an spaces?

    Kind regards

    • hpyates Says:

      Hi Elaine

That’s great that your daughter Hannah wants to play netball and would like to join our Club.

Unfortunately, ‘on paper’ we are full this year and can only take those who were already on our waiting list.

However, if you give me a contact email address and confirm which school year Hannah is in, I will contact you again as soon as we have space which may happen sooner than we think if someone doesn’t turn up for the start of the year on September 6th (next Saturday).

  5. Mrs Jennifer Broadley Says:

Hi, I am looking for a local netball club for my daughter Faye Broadley (age 12) to join. She has always enjoyed sport but since started the Corbet School in September she has taken a very keen interest in Netball. I was wondering if you have any spaces at your club to give her a chance to experience more of the sport.

Thank you for any help and advice you can give.

    Kind regards

    Jennifer Broadley

    • hpyates Says:

      Hi Jennifer

Apologies for the long (very long) delay in replying to your enquiry.

I have no defence other than I did not see that you had made an enquiry and the netball club has been suspended during the pandemic.

      Apologies . . .

Hopefully, you will have received an email from me within the last week as your details came through from another source and you were invited to our first training session back at Oswestry Leisure Centre today.

      Did Faye attend?

Let me know how you went on?
